Goes with the lawn furniture
I saw my first pumpkins of the season yesterday - a cafe near my office had a little heap of them outside their door. It made me want to buy school supplies and drink apple cider. It may be eighty degrees today, but I don't care.
Fall isn't the only thing that happening too quickly - my sense of the passage of time is out of whack in general, and it seems to be getting worse every year. I was having drinks with friends last week and mentioned something that feels to me like it happened fairly recently, but they pointed out it was actually almost three years ago. Is this how it starts? Am I going to be doing the same thing with decades, soon? I was going to buy Chris a cane for his birthday (so he can shake it at passing children, who will refer to him as Crazy Old Man Brown and then run away) but maybe I should buy it for myself instead.
If you do, ya gotta make sure to get one light colored eye contact and maybe something to "black out" some of your teeth. A good trip to a thrift market, among things, and you have a good costume for Halloween! :^) On a more serious note, it's probably the heat and stress that's messin' with your head. Nothing good liquor can cure by not making you care. :^D
