I don't want a lot for Christmas

It's the middle of December, but here in New York we've still got the same eerily mild weather we've had since September. It's 50 to 65 degrees, often foggy or drizzly, with the occasional cold day thrown in but no real winter weather yet. I should be happy about this, as it's essentially an extended fall. And I love fall, so I am happy. But that doesn't mean it isn't strange. I'm not quite wishing for snow yet because I know by March I'll be sick to death of slogging around in the toxic black gutter-muck that New York snow eventually becomes. But 65 and foggy, just a week and change before Christmas? That ain't right.

And yeah - Christmas. As far as I'm concerned, Halloween just happened (that's why I haven't posted the photos yet, you see) so I'm not quite prepared to deal with Christmas yet, but it seems to be coming whether I'm prepared for it or not. I don't have much time off for the holiday this year, but I'll be heading back up to Massachusetts nonetheless and I'm busily buying the last few presents I need to get and figuring out travel plans. I'm sure it's a sign of something that I have to check my Amazon order history to make sure that the stuff I'm buying for people this year I didn't already buy last year.

Anyway, I guess I'm about ready for 2006 to be over. It wasn't a terrible year, but it went by awfully quickly and I spent what seemed like a huge portion of it sick in bed. Here's hoping 2007 does not follow the same pattern.

PS: I've had that Mariah Carey Christmas song stuck in my head for the past three days now. You know the one I'm talking about. If it doesn't go away soon, you may not be hearing from me again.

lol What song? :^D Most of that garble i put on mute or turn up the 'Pod to indiscreetly cover it up so my heads filled with the usual music and voices. Loop and crank' the preferred chorus that gets ya in the seasonal mood. :^)

On the formers, usual wet, foggy, brainchildren-in-traffic weather on the waaay West side and probably the usual X-mas arrangements. Three cheers to happier, healthier and most definitely more drunkerd 2007!
