Man accidentally swallows strange mixture of human and animal blood from a medical research center: this totally reads like a superhero origin story.
One of my favorite things about living on Roosevelt Island is the spectacular views we get of Manhattan's east side, but I particularly like how the city just disappears whenever there's the slightest bit of fog over the river. For example, this is what the Queensboro bridge normally looks like on a cloudy day if you're standing near the Roosevelt Island subway station. And this is what it looked like this morning. Today was foggy, but not remarkably so. The bridge fades away even more dramatically when there's a thicker layer of mist, and it feels like Manhattan itself just isn't there anymore, which is eerily delightful.
